Car Silence

Track recorded in Jespers car driving us to Vänern i Sweden on sunday 27/6-2010 in the afternoon. We turned our amplifiers all the way up and let the car and its movements play on our instruments. The silence was broken only by the car, but the awkward feeling of silence was still there for 18 minutes.

Noise Tree

What happens if you amplify nature itself? Tuesday evening 29/6-2010 we hung our instruments in a tree on a cliff besides the water. Earlier that same day we had decorated the tree with skeletons from fish and birds that we had found on the island and some tribal-like art. We turned on our amplifiers, went swimming, cooked some dinner on the fire. After about an hour we came back to find out what the wind had played trying to break the silence.

Damaskus

A slightly manipulated field recording from the center of Damascus, january 3rd 2010. Singing from at least three different minarets and somebody hammering poles in the ground. And some other sounds. All mixed up, shaken and stirred. Silence is never really there.
